For over 15 years, the Healdsburg Ukulele Club has met to play the Hawaiian ukulele in Healdsburg, a famed wine and food destination an hour and a half north of San Francisco. In our quaint wine country town in Sonoma County, California, the Club plays the charming four -stringed instrument and covers songs across the decades in many musical genres.
The Club spent decades meeting weekly for informal strumming and jam sessions, and occasional performances at local senior communities. Since 2023, the Club "upped its game" to form a performance group that focuses on bringing joy to others through our performances. We brought in a delightful Italian vocal coach and leader to help us grow as players, singers and performers.
The Club meets on Friday afternoons, from 12 p.m. to 1 PM for a casual strum where beginners will feel comfortable. From 1 PM to 2:30 p.m., the performance group meets to prepare for our gigs. We meet at Room 8 at the Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg. In the first hour (12 to 1 p.m.), the Club holds a casual strumming session playing out of the HUC Master Songbook, the Yellow and Blue Daily Ukulele books, or other music brought by members. Beginners and newer players will feel comfortable. In our second session from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., we have a performance group session for our more advanced players and singers. The Club's performance group has performed dozens of gigs around the community, including on the historic Healdsburg Plaza, the Sonoma County Fair, the Healdsburg Art Fair, the Occidental Ukulele Festival, the Kala Ukes and Brew event at Lagunitas, Ukes4Peace jams, the holiday Sip and Shop, Prunepacker baseball games, and of course entertaining at many senior communities and .

The Club welcomes all ukulele players in a supportive atmosphere. We also welcome singers, bass uke players and percussionists. Look forward to weekly sessions, potlucks, holiday parties and field trips to see ukulele performers
Our vocal coach and performance leader is Deborah Lenzi Taylor. Our co-leaders are Gail Ginder and Rachelle Chong. Our treasurer is Tina Ius, and our chief roadie is Daniel Reid
